For some reason I was thinking about the 1970’s.
I think it was because of the new BBC dramatisation of ‘The Little Drummer Girl’, the latest John Le Carre novel to have a TV series made of it and kept in its original contemporary time setting.
Anyway, beige Ford Cortinas were common then.
