Sometimes I Rhymes: Stormy

Bryntin was definitely all for switching in to his hibernation mode today, being as the whole country was under a Meteorological Office warning for some breezier weather than normal.

However, there is, whatever the weather, a small job that always needs doing and unfortunately for Bryntin, only one person who has that job.

it’s windy out there
mind that patio chair
that just flew past your ear
now do take care
it’s a bit wild out there
you need protective headgear

it’s storm ciara
say it like keerah
name’s irish if you please
blowing a hooley
very cruelly
indeed a fearsome breeze

mind the trees
but no guarantees
that you’ll be safe out there
it’s the dog who
needs a poo
so enjoy the hurricane air

Note: If you like what I wrote up there and, lets face it, it is quite unlikely but still possible, then why not press one of the buttons that shares it to other people you know?

Or of course, if you don’t want them to know you’ve enjoyed this, or just feel ashamed now and want to keep it to yourself, don’t.

  1. Love the poem–sorry about the storm. I just watched a video of a plane trying to land and it looked really scary. Also, I always thought it was pronounced like “Sierra” so thanks for clearing that up!

    1. The damage has been a fascia board from the roof ripping off and then shattering on my car parked beneath and a power outage from around 11 last night until 8 this morning. Tour of the estate has not found any other problems. It’s still windy this morning but about half the speed, 35mph, feels gentle compared to 70mph!

  2. Hope you are still all okay there. I flew back from India the day before the storm luckily, and have been rather anxiously listening to the ropes creaking but so far so good on the boat, nice and cosy indoors and enough sun in the mornings for a nice walk.

    1. Welcome home!

A fairly hectic time this weekend with some of the roof giving in to the wind and dog walking being done dodging very hefty wintry showers… Wind has swung round to coming from the colder north now, a bit of a bite to it (the wind, not the dog). Forecast another storm for the weekend, so roofer has a small window to get it fixed enough to withstand the next hit!

      1. A man has been, reeled off some numbers that he had just thought of with the word ‘pounds’ after them and now we will be poor but rain and wind proof for a few more years.
